Governor Simon Bako Lalong has urged security Agencies to collaborate with community Heads in Plateau State to ensure the safety of citizens .
This is contained in a statement by his Director of press and public affairs Makut Simon Macham in Jos.
Worried by the recent incidences of security breaches in the State which has led to loss of lives and property, Governor Lalong met with heads of security agencies and directed an onslaught against criminals.
Governor Lalong urged security agencies to collaborate with community leaders to facilitate investigations into the security challenges in their respective areas.
The Governor commended the quick response of security agencies during emergencies but still encouraged them to interface with people at the grassroots to ensure security of the citizens.
He said the meeting agreed that government will ensure that investigations be carried out and the culprits be brought to book.
The Governor also stressed that where there are Farmers/Herders skirmishes, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) would be deployed to such areas.
Governor Lalong appealed to social media bloggers to report with caution by establishing the authenticity of their reports.
He said arrests had already been made over the killing of a Traditional Ruler in Ratsat village of Foron District, Barkin Ladi LGA, a DSS operative in Shendam as well as the killing of 5 people in Vwang district Jos South Local Government, saying the perpetrators would be brought to book.
