Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State says his administration will not abandon any of the projects initiated by his administration.
The Governor stated this when he met with contractors handling the projects from the three senatorial Zones of the State in Jos.
He explained that the projects, which aims to provide basic facilities such as hospitals and Schools were conceived to address the problems affecting people of the State.
Governor Lalong said the meeting was to find out the progress of work and challenges faced by contractors so that it could be resolved and facilitate completion.
He also told the contractors that he would soon embark on another round of inspection of the projects hence the need for them to be up and doing as no excuses would be tolerated, noting that the President is expected to Inaugurate some of the projects.
Governor Lalong also warned that the contractors must work in accordance with specifications as anyone who does not adhere to terms of the projects would be sanctioned.
Mr Lawson Ngoa who spoke on behalf of the contractors said the projects started well but was affected by delays occasioned by COVID-19 and funding which had now been resolved by the IPO, assuring that there would be more speed on the work now that the economy has picked up.
They also raised the challenges of inflation and high cost of materials which the Governor promised to address.
