Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku has expressed deep shock over the death of Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a former minister of women Affairs and governorship candidate in the state.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu describes Hajiya Jumai as a woman of great courage whose death was a personal loss to the governor.
It states that the Late Senator was an asset whose death has robbed Taraba State and Nigeria of the benefits of her wealth of experience in politics.
The statement adds that Governor Ishaku and the late Senator Jumai Alhassan had enjoyed a robust political relationship and had kept in touch even while they both contested for the same seat of the Governor of Taraba State from different political platforms in 2015 and 2019.
” As minister of Women Affairs Senator Aisha Alhassan contributed immensely towards social and political emancipation of women and her death will leave a vacuum that will be difficult to fill” Gov Ishaku stated.
The statement urges her family to take solace in the fact that Senator Aisha Alhassan lived a life of service to humanity.
According to the statement Governor Ishaku prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.
