Gov Bello Wants Security Agencies To Redouble Efforts In Stemming Crime

Stakeholders in the Security Sector in Kogi State have been enjoined not to relent in their efforts to rid the State of criminal elements.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made the call when he inaugurated Health and Security facilities at the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
Alhaji Yahaya Bello acknowledged that the synergy between security agencies and other relevant partners within the State had yielded positive results and cautioned criminals to retrace their steps.
The governor who lauded the Acting Rector for achieving so much within a short period noted that people in position of authority needed to demonstrate such zeal in the midst of scarce resources.
He pointed out that Government was keen on transforming the education sector and promised to ensure payment of promotion arrears of staff and warned the public against trespassing on school property .
In an address, the Acting Rector of the institution, Doctor Salisu Ogbo Usman said the school under his watch converted and remodeled the old library to a modern health centre with a thirty bed capacity to boost the health needs of staff and students and the host community. Doctor Ogbo Usman called on the Governor to ensure recruitment of health personnel, completion of students hostels and construction of pedestrian bridge to prevent frequent accidents that might involve staff and students of the institution.
In a remark, the commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Mr Wemi Jones expressed appreciation to the Governor for his desire to transform the education sector.
