Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed worry over the rate at which land meant for public institutions are encroached upon,.
A statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo frowns at the encroachment into the land of the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation in Lokoja.
Its states that the governor has directed that land belonging to the Broadcasting Corporation be retrieved from the intruders.
“This is not acceptable and the Governor has directed that we retrieve all our lands from intruders. The trend of building private structures or businesses on Government property will be met with stern measures.
“We have seen what is happening here and we have directed the Station Manager to put a stop to it immediately.
“As citizens, we must always display a high degree of patriotism and responsibility. Building private structures on government land is unacceptable”.
According to the statement, the Governor assures Management and Staff of the Corporation of Government’s readiness to reposition it as all stations of the Organization will soon wear a new look.
