FRSC To Sanction Hospitals That Refuse To Treat Road Accident Victims

The Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC Wants Health Care Providers to always render Emergency Services to Victims of Road Accidents and Save lives before requesting for money and clearance from Security Agencies .

The FCT Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Wobin Gora Who made the call at the opening of a One day workshop for stakeholders in the transport and health of sectors in Abuja said many lives had been lost due to unnecessary requests particularly from private hospitals before rendering services.

While appealing to passers-by to always join hands with FRSC personnel in rescuing victims of road accidents the FRSC Sector Commander maintained that appropriate sanctions would be metted out on hospitals that refused to attend to Victims of road accidents.

Mr Gora however stressed the need for Nigerians to always call FRSC Toll Free number 122 for emergency services.

The Lugbe Unit Commander of FRSC Mr Adewale Ameen noted that the workshop was organised to synergize towards assisting victims of road accidents at various levels and minimize bureaucratic processes during emergencies.

The workshop with the theme: Effective Response to Road Traffic Crash Victims- A panacea to Quick Recovery had in attendance stakeholders in the transport sector, Health Care Providers from the public and private organisations as well as security personnel.
