FRSC Seeks Support Of Transport Union Leaders To Curb Road Accidents

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has called on Transport Union Leaders to support efforts at reducing road accidents in the country.

FCT Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Samuel Ochi who made the call at the commencement of a joint Sallah Special Operation with the National Emergency Management Agency in Abuja said over Two Thousand Personnel have been deployed for effective traffic control during the Ten day Operation.

While identifying Over speeding, as the major cause of road accidents in the FCT, The Sector Commander urged Union Executives to stop the sale of alcoholic beverages and join the campaign against reckless driving.

The Head of Operations FCT NEMA, Mr Bitrus Samuel said the agency decided to use Five days to compliment FRSC’S efforts Incase of any emergency.

The FCT Coordinator of FRSC, Special Marshal Sunny Adisa appealed to motorists particularly commercial drivers to give.maximum cooperation to the Marshals deployed for the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the Zuba traditional Council, Alhaji Mohammed Murtala pledged to carry out campaign to all major motor parks and public places in all major languages.

The NURTW Zuba spokesman, Mr Isiaka Abdulahi reiterated the readiness of all transport unions in bringing about effective road management during and after the Sallah celebration.
