The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has expressed concern over the increasing cases of road accidents involving petrol tankers and articulated vehicles causing untimely death of innocent Nigerians and economic loss to the country.
The Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi who made this known at a training for Sector Heads of Driver’s licence in Abuja said despite meetings, training and retraining for drivers of articulated vehicles the mayhem still persist
Dr Oyeyemi however warned that the commission would no longer tolerate the reckless attitude of the petrol tankers drivers on the highway.
While calling on motorists to avoid night journey, Dr Oyeyemi said all units and sector commanders had been directed to look for alternative routes for motorists as some highways are flooded due to increasing water level of most rivers across the country.
The FRSC Corps Marshal however stressed the need for for driver’s license centers across the country to display honesty, transparency, integrity and vigilance in carrying out their responsibilities
