The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has warned motorists particularly commercial drivers against non compliance with Covid 19 protocols in the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Sector Commander, Mr Wobin Gora who gave the warning in Abuja said the commission would no longer tolerate flagrant disobedience to the Coronavirus Disease Health Protection Regulations Twenty Twenty one law by the motoring public in the six area councils.
Mr Wobin Gora explained that personnel had been deployed to motor parks and terminals across the territory to educate citizens on the dangers of non compliance.
He expressed regret that many commercial drivers are still overloading their vehicles with passengers and goods and called on transport union leaders to wake up to their responsibilities and support efforts at stopping the further spread of the disease.
On the efforts to check road accidents, the FRSC Sector Commander appealed to road users to avoid overspeeding, dangerous driving and give maximum cooperation to the Corps in efforts to ensure effective traffic control in the territory.
He maintained that the Commission would also take sensitisation campaign to Government offices and other public places to educate drivers on the need to always abiide by traffic rules on the highways.
Mr Wobin Gora however reiterated the commission’s continuous working relations with traffic agencies and other security organizations for the safety of lives and property on Nigeria Roads.
