FRSC Again Cautions Against Indiscriminate Parking By Heavy Duty & Articulated Vehicles

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has appealed to the leadership of lorries, trucks and drivers of Articulated Vehicles to caution their members against indiscriminate parking along the Abaji – Gwagwalada – Kwali – Yangoji Highway.

FCT Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Samuel Ochi made the plea during a meeting with the leadership of Petroleum Tanker Drivers, NURTW and Other Heavy Duty Vehicles in Abuja on ways to check incessant obstruction on that corridor.

Mr Ochi who expressed concern over the attitude of some drivers of articulated vehicles appealed to them to always abide by traffic rules and regulations as well as assist the FRSC towards ensuring free flow of traffic along this major route.

The FCT Sector Commander maintained that the FRSC would continue to work with stakeholders for effective Road Management in the Territory.

Speaking, Chairman of Petroleum Tanker Drivers for Abaji and Kwali, Mallam Yakubu Musa while commending the cordial working relations between the union and the FRSC stressed the need for the Area Councils to assist by placing ‘No Parking’ notice boards along the road to guide drivers appropriately.

Mallam Musa also urged the FRSC to provide at least one Heavy Duty Tow Truck for prompt removal of articulated vehicles during emergency.

Also the Chairman of NURTW, Alhaji Iliyasu Umar passionately appealed to the FRSC to embark on Regular training to enhance the capacity of members on traffic administration.
