The Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC has directed Zonal and Sector commanders to step up strategies towards reducing road accidents and ensuring effective traffic management in the last quarter of the year.
Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi who gave the directive in Abuja during a strategy meeting with Zonal and Sector Commanders said public education and advocacy must also be stepped up by both regular and special marshals to meet the challenges on roads.
Dr Oyeyemi also stressed the need for senior officers to put all patrol vehicles, ambulances and other equipment in order for enforcement.
The Corps Marshal urged them to educate feild operatives to take personal responsibility of their safety and comply with directives of the presidential task force on COVID-19.
Twelve Zonal and thirty seven Sector Commanders across the federation attended the meeting.
