The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria has appealed for adequate funding to effectively delivery on its mandate in the interest of the Country.
The Director General of the Corporation, Doctor Mansur Liman made the appeal at a public hearing while answering questions from the Senate Joint Committee On Finance And National Planning preparatory to the 2021 to 2023 medium term expenditure framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, Fsp in Abuja.
Doctor Liman told the Joint Committee that the Corporation needed capital investment to replace its obsolete equipment, to enable it compete favorably with other mediums.
Doctor Liman noted that partial commercialisation whereby some Government Agencies do not pay for services rendered do not portend any good for the Corporation.
The Senate Joint Committee Chairman, Senator Solomon Olamilekan, advised the Corporation to evolve a strategic marketing plan to generate more revenue.
Senator Olamilekan said the public hearing was aimed at finding ways to fund the national budget and not to witch hunt any individual or institution.
