In the petition dated August 31, 2020, Mr Maina through his lawyer, Mr Edwin Inegedu , prays the office of the AGF to review all files involving the prosecution to ensure, it is not malicious, and a bid to prevent accountability of the assets kept in EFCC’s Custody.

According to the petition, the PRTT was a team and Maina only a part of it, thereby being singled out for prosecution, despite money and property recovered for the benefit of the government, was a case of witch-hunting.

The petitioner therefore, urged the AGF, in the interest of justice to prevent the malicious persecution being carried out.
