Political office holders have been called upon to be resolute in rebranding Nigerian politics for a better future.
The President, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Reverend Doctor, Samson Ayokunle made the call in a sermon at a forum to mark the hundred years anniversary of First Baptist Church Keffi in Nasarawa State .
Reverend Ayokunle who stressed that political office holders owe Nigerians better governance and policies that would promote peace and political stability urged them to provide infrastructure to fast track development.
He said “we are talking about rebranding Nigeria, I don’t want to say restructure, because politicians have bastardized the word, they have turned it to political extract, rebrand Nigeria, repackage, overhaul the system, other wise the present system will not drive our future. Replicate infrastructure in other Countries to attract investors and reduce losing professionals that are productive going for greener pastures in other countries.”
Taking his text from second Kings chapter six, with the topic ‘Building a Great Church for a Better Future after the centinary’ the CAN President admonished Nigerians to change their mindset and support efforts to build a great nation through faithful stewardship to God and humanity.
“We should build a church in which Christ is well pleased, to do this the church must pay attention to the word of God and ensure all hands are on deck on developmental activities in the church and the Nation at large.”
The programme which attracted religious and political stakeholders as well as traditional rulers conducted series of prayer sessions for the country to overcome its economic, security and the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
