The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha has warned against indiscriminate erecting of Structures, especially on water ways.
He gave the warning during a visit to some communities affected by flooding in the area.
The Council Chairman who attributed the huge loss of lives and property to non adherence to urban development regulations, urged residents to desist from unwholesome practices and obey simple laws meant to ensure safety of lives and property
Alhaji Mustapha who sympathised with the flood victims said the Council was doing everything possible to provide relief materials for the victims.
One of the victims , Mallam Muhammad Mustapha who recounted his losses appealed to Government to urgently come to their aid.
Some of the affected Communities visited by the Chairman are Giri, Angwan Dodo, Angwan Bassa and Dagiri amongst others.
