Dr Oyeyemi said while much achievement was recorded in the first United Nations Decade of Action 2011 to 2030, the present Administration had invested heavily on Road infrastructure and provided necessary support and logistics for the traffic management agency to check the rate of road accidents in the country.

According to , the FRSC Boss, the focus still remains the same with the five pillars which are: road safety management, Safer Road, Safer Vehicle ,Safer pedestrian, and post crash with the aim at reducing crashes by 50%

He stressed further that the United Nations Decade also tasked member nations to make concerted efforts and use the instrumentalists required
like drivers license, which means only certified drivers drive as well as ensuring that only road worthy vehicles are on the road.

Dr Oyeyemi appealed to the Head of Drivers Licence to always follow strictly laid down procedures in the licencing scheme for the country to have effective traffic management.

He charged them to avoid corrupt practices as Government agencies, private institutions and international organizations rely on the authenticity of drivers license for official transactions.
