Federal University of Lafia Nasarawa State says it has taken adequate measures to secure lives and property of the university community.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Shehu Abdulrahman stated this during the ninth matriculation ceremony in Lafia.
Professor Abdulrahman said considering the rising insecurity especially banditry and kidnappings in the country, the university was working closely with relevant agencies through intelligence gathering and information sharing for prompt action on any act of security threat in and around the school.
He urged the students to shun bad company and imbibe hard work, dedication and commitment to
their studies to justify the purpose of their admission to the university.
Professor Abdulrahman pointed out that the Federal University of Lafia under his watch was on the path to achieving its dream of becoming one of the top four in the West African Sub Region in the areas of research, innovations and academic excellence.
Three thousand seven hundred and eight students were matriculated for the 2019/ 2020 academic session.
