The Federal Capital Territory Administration through its Satellite Towns Development Department is to construct 30000 affordable housing units for staff of FCTA/FCDA in Karshi area of the territory.
The Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, gave this hint to journalists during an assessment tour of the project in Karshi, Abuja.
Dr Aliyu assured that the project would pick up very soon; adding that some developers had already given their commitment towards the realization of the Housing scheme.
According to the minister, the completion of the project, would serve as a moral booster for FCTA/ FCDA Staff to be more committed to duty as well as make them proud owners of Houses in the nation’s capital.
Her words:”Practically, we are ready to do the needful…We have over 30000 staff waiting already, and we are set to proceed as for the takeoff, it is as soon as now, the population of FCT staff without credible houses is alarming, so if we want adequate concentration for our staff, then we have to provide them with good accommodation.” Aliyu explained.
Corroborating the Minister’s words that the FCT Administration accorded importance to staff welfare, the Director of Housing, FCT Satellite Towns Development Department, Usman Isyaku Bala, said the project would be completed within 24 months.
