The Federal Capital Territory Taskforce Team on COVID 19 has rated some churches high on compliance level to the COVID 19 guidelines.

Chairman of the Taskforce, Comrade Ikharo Attah who led his team on inspection to some churches expressed satisfaction.

His words “very very high compliance” by all the churches visited within the City Centre”

Comrade Attah explained that his team could not go to the suburbs to monitor compliance, due to the short timing of worship in various churches.

Comrade Attah also commended churches in Satellite Towns but however expressed worry that some churches in rural areas were yet to comply fully.

“But from what we have seen, the churches largely complied. They have hand washing points, sanitizers, temperature scanners and are maintaining physical distancing with the worshippers all wearing face masks. Even while dancing, it’s been done carefully and are even singing with their masks on”.

Comrade Attah used the medium to call on all Mosques to comply with the guidelines given by NCDC, as the team would continue to visit and ensure enforcement.

Comrade Attah therefore enjoined residents to comply without being forced to do it so that they could also celebrate with their families.

Other churches the taskforce visited and scored very high over compliance with COVID-19 protocol were the Central Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Wuse 2, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, First Baptist Church, Area 11, Garki and ECWA Good News Church, Maitama.
