FCTA Commends Mosques On Compliance With Safety Protocols

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has commended Mosques for complying with COVID-19  safety protocols during prayers.

This was made known when the Ministerial Enforcement Task Force on COVID19 , led by Comrade Ikharo Attah visited some mosques to monitor the level of compliance during the Friday jummat prayer at Wuse, Utako and Maitama districts.

While Comrade Attah said usage of facemasks,  sanitizers and hand washing points in the mosques visited were encouraging, he however urged Imams to ensure that the worshippers adhered strictly to physical distancing during prayers.

Attah also pointed out that Most mosques have shortened their sermon and prayer times to prevent people from staying long in the places of worship. 

On the contrary, comrade Attah enjoined the leader of Uthman Bin Alfa mosque ,Wuse 2, where some lapses were noticed ,to put infrared thermometer for temperature check,  hand washing facilities and sanitizers at the entry points of the mosque.

Meanwhile, at the Ansarul Islam National Mosque ,Utako district, the team also frowned at the fact that security men at the gate enforcing compliance with the covid-19 protocols, were not wearing facemasks.
