FCT Minister Of State Makes Case For Youths Inclusiveness In Decision Making

Federal Capital Territory Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu says Youth inclusiveness in governance is a panacea to a better and greater Nigeria.  

The Minister who stated this at the FCT Youth Virtual Town Hall meeting, also said that the FCT Administration has designed various developmental modules to be unveiled for the youths soonest.

Dr Aliyu in specific terms was of the opinion that youths should be included in large numbers especially as stakeholders where they would be assigned roles to play from the formulation of any policy to its implementation.

Dr Aliyu also noted that the support and efforts of youths during the palliative distribution was part of the successes achieved by the FCT Administration .

According to her any society that turns its ear or eliminates the youths from participation was destined to starve to death.
” When youths are practically engaged in the processes of decision making, I know their interest will be captured.

Participants at the Town Hall meeting commended the FCT Minister of State for providing the platform to ventilate ideas with a view to providing good governance to residents of the territory.  

Issues raised by speakers include scaling up entrepreneurship among youths in the territory, environmental sanitation in rural communities, job creation, security, good road network in the Area Councils, among others.  

The Town Hall meeting which was anchored by the president of Pan African Young Women Development Initiative, Dr. Jophia Nanker Gupar, had also the chairman of FCT National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mr. Ango Suleiman, Coordinator Conference for Patriotic Citizens FCT, Mr. Zakari Gambo Babale, Vice President North Central National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Muktar Akoshile, National Coordinator Association of Uniform Voluntary Organisation, Mr. Abraham Kwaghfan, and Comrade Johnson Kolawale Michael as speakers.
