Federal Capital Territory Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has extended palliative items to flood victims of Koton-Karfe in Kogi state.
The minister who visited the traditional ruler of Koton-Karfe, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Gombo, the Ohimegye Igu stated that the visit could have come earlier but for the #EndSARS crisis that held the nation to a stand still.
She however commended the people of Koton Karfe for being law abiding throughout the crisis period, assuring that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would not derail the country from the path of peace, progress and development.
The minister also used the occasion to condole flood victims of Koton-Karfe and other affected areas over the damage suffered during the period.
While noting that the flood was a natural disaster, she however called for caution, warning that there was need for precautionary measures to be put in place to avoid wanton destruction of property every flood season.
In his response, His Royal Majesty Ohimegye Igu of Koton Karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Gombo, commended the minister for touching lives even before her appointment as minister.
Items donated include 100 pieces of fishing nets, 100 pieces of mosquito nets, 1000 bags of 10kg rice and 1000 bags of maize.
Similarly, the minister also visited her hometown Bodun, where she paid homage to HRH, Mallam Mohamed Sani, the Agankyu of Kakanda kingdom.
While at the palace, she appealed to the people to be patient with the Government in the area of infrastructural provision, assuring that something positive would be done on the road network leading to Bodun community
