FCT : FRSC To Sanction Commercial Drivers For Indiscriminate Parking

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has appealed to Motorists particularly commercial drivers to avoid indiscriminate parking on the roads and always use designated places for picking passengers in the Federal Capital Territory.

The FCT Sector Commander Mr Samuel Ochi Who made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Abuja said some commercial drivers load and pick passengers in unauthorized places thereby causing obstruction of traffic.

The Sector Commander said for effective traffic control, the commission had invited transport union leaders for a meeting before embarking on massive enforcement of the law on indiscriminate parking.

Mr Samuel Ochi also urged FCT residents to make use of the pedestrian bridge and support Government’s efforts at ensuring Safety of all road users.

He called on drivers to always pick and drop passengers at the designated pedestrian points to save lives.

Mr Samuel Ochi however stressed the need for tricycle and motorcycle operators to keep the terms of agreement with Government on areas of operation to avoid arrest and prosecution

The FCT FRSC Boss reiterated the Commission’s readiness to work with transport union leaders, Traffic and Security Agencies to make FCT roads Safer for road users.
