FCT FRSC Seeks Support Of Stakeholders In Checking Indiscriminate Parking

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC wants Transport Union Leaders to support efforts aimed at checking indiscriminate parking on the highways.

The FCT Sector Commander, Mr Samuel Ochi Who made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja said parking and picking of passengers along the road was one of the causes of obstruction on the highways.

The Sector Commander also explained that the Commission was collaborating with Ministries, Departments and Agencies on the need for their drivers to stop parking vehicles along the road.

According to him, the Corps was working closely with stakeholders in the transport sector to ensure free flow of traffic and reduction in road crashes in the Six Area Councils of the Territory.

Mr Samuel Ochi further stated that the Commission was organizing a training for tricycle operators to enhance their capacity and check excesses at the approved designated routes.

The Sector Commander however appealed to road users to be lane disciplined and give maximum cooperation to personnel for effective traffic control.
