Federal Capital Territory Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board wants Church leaders and other well meaning Nigerians, to sponsor Christians to the Holy land of Israel, for spiritual edification.
Director of the Board, Mr Audu Dabara made the call when he led management team of the Board for sensitization in Abaji,Kwali,Gwagwalada and Kuje Area Councils on the significance of pilgrimage .
Citing example from Psalm 84 verses 5-7, Mr Dabara explained that pilgrimage strengthens faith of the individuals and attract God’s blessings to families and the Nation.
…though pilgrimage is not a ticket to heaven, but it strengthens faith and character is reformed. Therefore, when refined individuals contributes their quota to nation building, the country progresses and witness rapid development”
Mr Dabara who further described pilgrimage as an avenue to work out one’s salvation into holiness, expressed the hope that December 2020 pilgrimage would hold by God’s grace.
Also, Deputy Director Consular services, Mrs Rahila Isa-Baita encouraged Pastors that had not traveled to the Holy land to prayerfully take a bold step to gain better understanding about the faith they professed.
Speaking on procedures, Head of Operations, FCPWB , Mr Philip Danjuma said application form goes for five thousand naira, while the total package for the journey to Israel cost Seven hundred and twenty thousand naira.
The Area Council Chairmen of Abaji, Kwali ,Gwagwalada and kuje promised to support the Board .
On their part, the FCT Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Reverend Jonah Samson and CAN Secretary, Bishop Michael Akpami, unanimously prayed God, to help Nigeria overcome all her challenges and make this year’s Pilgrimage a success.
