The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) FCT Chapter, wants principals to come up with initiatives that would further enhance the standard of education in the territory.
The new ANCOPSS President, Alhaji Adam Bello Gupa made the call while speaking with journalists after his inauguration to pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
Alhaji Bello-Gupa said his leadership would consolidate on the achievements of the outgoing President, Mallam Abdulkarim Abdulrahman towards building a robust system that would add more value to schools.
Alhaji Bello- Gupa also pledged to facilitate training and retraining of ANCOPSS members within the country and abroad to enable them meet current educational realities.
The executives from both Junior and Secondary Schools across the territory, promised to serve the association faithfully in line with the motto of the association: “leaders building leaders”.
According to him,” a new template will be developed to capture all the programmes needed to move the schools forward…We will continue with the good work, where our predecessors have stopped ” he said.
In his farewell message, the outgoing ANCOPSS President, Abdulkarim Abdulrahman highlighted some of his administration’s numerous achievements to include opening of temporary FCT ANCOPSS Secretariat at Zuba, review of PTA charges in UBEB, procurement of a Highlander as official vehicle of ANCOPSS among others.
Mallam Abdulrahman also urged the newly elected executive members to work in unity for the attainment of secondary school objectives and the overall development of the society.
According to him, the successes his administration recorded would stand the test of time.
The event also featured the issuance of scholarship and distribution of instructional materials to indigent students.
