A two day organisational integrity management training for board members of the Federal Character Commission to deepen the understanding of the commission’s mandate is in progress.
Speaking at the opening of the training in Keffi Nasarawa State, the Executive Chairman, Federal Character Commission, Dr. Muheebat Dankaka said the training became necessary to address lingering operational issues towards integrity and accountability.
The training organised by the Anti Corruption Academy of Nigeria was to re orientate the Commissioners on the need to shun acts that could hinder the commission from achieving set goals.
Dr. Dankaka, said the training would also provide an opportunity for the Commissioners to come up with initiatives that could move the organisation forward .
In her words “It
gladdens me to know that this training will also afford us the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of our mandates, the goal and objectives of the Commission, Cordial relationships with one another, key stakeholders and clients for optimal and effective execution of our mandates in honest and corrupt free manner.”
While addressing the participants, the Chairman Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission, Professor Bolaji Onasonoye called for
review of the organisation’s law to meet present day realities.
He charged the organisation to discharge their duties diligently to regain public trust.
Some participants said the outcome of the training would no doubt provide ample opportunity for the commission to contribute to the on going fight against corruption.
