Women have been advised to claim their rightful place in the family and the society in humility and respect.
The Speaker at a Special Session by the Men Organization of the Seventh day Adventist Church, Dei dei, Elder Daniel Ajayi explained that women were very important in the development of any society.
He noted that Women could only contribute meaningfully when there is harmonious relations with the men.
He said unhealthy rivalry in the society on the issue of who would lead ,should not be the bone of contention but in promoting peaceful coexistence for development in the family and the society.
Another speaker, Elder Constance Nwosu, expressed regret that some women exhibit behaviors that showed they were in competition with men, a development he said had retarded progress in many homes.
Elder Nwosu cautioned against the adoption of certain Treaties and Conventions against biblical teachings and cultural values on the role of women.
In his contribution,a retired civil servant Elder Henry Ajeme, called for better understanding on the needs of women in the society and at home.
Elder Ajeme also expressed the belief that better attention by men to women would promote peace and development in all spheres of human endeavour.
He advised that instead of the men being antagonistic in handling issues about women they should rather be more loving to build good Godly homes.
