A Former Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Retired Major General John Gbor has challenged Nigerian youths to always hold their leaders accountable towards ensuring good governance and national development. Retired Major General Gbor gave the challenge in Abuja while receiving an award of excellence from a Non-governmental Organization, Youth Forum For Development In Africa. The Former Presidential Candidate of APGA who is also the Founder of John Gbor Foundation said youths have a critical role to play in the task of repositioning the country for greatness. While expressing concern over the rate of crimes, drug abuse and other vices among youths stated that a lot needed to be done in making youths the pride of the nation. He therefore stressed the need for governments at all levels to give more priority to youth educational and entrepreneurship development towards making them more relevant in national development. He also called for more job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths to reduce youth restiveness, thuggery, armed robbery and all forms of criminality hindering the growth of the country. Retired Major General John Gbor equally advised them to avoid been used by corrupt politicians in achieving their selfish ambitions. Earlier during the presentation of the award, the National Coordinator of Youth Forum For Development In Africa, Comrade Paschal Anyanwu said the award was to recognize the humanitarian activities of Retired Major General John Gbor through his Foundation. Comrade Paschal Anyanwu stated that his contributions to the welfare of millions of Nigerians, youths and women development and education among others also informed the presentation of the award. While noting that the gesture would encourage Retired Major General John Gbor to do more, Comrade Paschal Anyanwu urged political office holders to be committed to Programmes that would improve the well being of all Nigerians.
