Some persons who participated in looting of items during the EndSARS Protests have returned the items in their possession with a plea for pardon from the Plateau State Government.
The repentant persons were led to the Government House in Jos by Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN.
The Cleric explained that they made the confession during a revival.
He said over two thousand people came forward after hearing the gospel where he preached against the recent vandalism of public and private property in the State.
According to him their action is an invitation of the anger of God against the perpetrators.
He also stressed that the hijack of the ENDSARS protest is a plan of the devil to scuttle the will of God for Plateau State which cannot be left without intercession.
Reverend Dachomo appealed to Governor Simon Bako Lalong to temper justice with mercy by granting forgiveness to the repentant persons.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Governor, Secretary to the Government of the State, Professor Danladi Atu commended Reverend Dachomo for appealing to the consciences of the persons who came forward to ask for forgiveness.
He said the action of the looters was a great disservice to the State as not only food items were looted, but heavy machinery, public infrastructure and businesses worth billions of naira.
He advised youths of Plateau State to be wary of incitement by people who are not from Plateau State to orchestrate the destruction after which they disappear to their States of origin as it happened during the ENDSARS protest.
He promised to forward the plea of the repentant persons to the Governor for further consideration.
