The Federal University Lokoja has called for a robust partnership with the Kogi State Government towards achieving its mandate.
The Chairman, Presidential Visitation Panel of the University, Ambassador Godknows Igali made the call when he led the management team of the Institution and members of the Visitation Panel on a courtesy call on Governor Yahaya Bello in Lokoja.
Ambassador Igali said the call became imperative in view of the need for the University to commence full academic activities at its permanent site.
According to him, the Institution is strategic to the growth and development of the State hence the need for the mutual partnership.
He appealed to the State Government to fulfill its promises of a fence for the University and facilitate the Certificate of Occupancy for the Institution to enable it expand the scope of development with private organisations.
Responding, Governor Yahaya Bello, represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja assured the Visitation Panel of the State Government’s readiness to partner the Institution towards fulfilling set goals.
Governor Bello said his administration would also fulfill its promises and obligation to the University to enable it access necessary assistance from relevant stakeholders.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi expressed appreciation to the State Government for its continued assistance to the Institution.
