DRUG ABUSE: Taskforce Intercepts Over 53g Of Indian Hemp In Kano

The Kano State Taskforce Committee on Counterfeit Drugs has intercepted about 53.3kg of illicit drugs suspected to be Indian hemp.

The State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa,stated this while handing over of the intercepted substances to the State command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in Kano.

He said the Taskforce also intercepted fake and counterfeit drugs meant for distribution across Kano.

Getso who was was represented by the chairman of the Taskforce, Ghali Sule said the taskforce would not relent in curtailing the challenge of drug abuse in the State.

Receiving the substances, the Commandant of the NDLEA, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul, thanked the State Ministry of Health for its support to the Agency.

He called on other stakeholders to join hands with the agency for effective eradication of illicit drug abuse and trafficking considering the high percentage of Nigerians engulfed by the menance.
