The Armed Forces says its sustained kinetic and non kinetic operations have continued to record significant successes in the fight against terrorists, bandits and other criminals across the country.
The Acting Director Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko who stated this during a media briefing in Abuja, said fifty five escapees from the terrorists camps, surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno state.
General Onyeuko while highlighting the achievements of the military at various theatres of Operations explained that troops of Operations Hadin Kai, Hadarin Daji, Safe Haven, Whirl Stroke, Whirl Punch and Thunder strike in the North East, North West and North Central recorded appreciable successes through ambushes, raids, search and rescue missions and air interdiction which led to elimination of seventy three terrorists, arrests of drug peddlers, kidnappers, bandits and rescue of students of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri in Kebbi state as well as trucks of rustled cattles.
General Onyeuko also pointed out that troops repelled attacks, recovered some riffles, gun trucks, anti aircraft guns, IED making material and several ammunition.
The Acting Director also stated that troops engaged in several non kinetic operations through peace and security meetings with stakeholders in communities of Plateau and Kaduna states.
General Onyeuko added that troops of Operations Delta Safe and Awatse in the South South and South West deactivated several illegal refining sites recovered some stolen petroleum products and arrested one Mr Ibrahim Musa an ISWAP member in Ogun state who was on a mission to acquire some items for ISWAP operations in Maiduguri.
