The Defence Headquarters has called on Nigerians to be patient and allow the various Commissions of Enquiry by State Governments come up with reports on issues surrounding the protests across the Country.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche who made the call during the weekly media briefing in Abuja, maintained that the Armed Forces would sustain all major operations aimed at addressing various criminal activities in the Country.
According to General Enenche, the Armed Forces has nine major operations and other subsidiary Operations aimed at tackling various security challenges.
He explained that there are other Operations by the military and other security agencies in various States which are effective for internal security and urged Nigerians to be patient and allow appropriate authorities carry out their responsibilities especially with the commissions set up.
The Coordinator stated that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke in the North West and North Central zones during various Operations eliminated several armed bandits, arrested some including their collaborators and recovered arms and ammunition.
General Enenche pointed out that troops of Operation Safe Haven in conjunction with the personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency also conducted raids on suspected drug peddlers in some Communities in Plateau State and arrested six suspects with large quantities of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
The Coordinator also said troops of Operation Delta Safe and AWATSE in conjunction with their subsidiary Operations in the South South and South West zones destroyed some illegal refining sites, arrested some of the oil criminals and recovered one thousand six hundred and thirty seven bags of 50kg paboiled rice.
General Enenche added that troops of operation Lafiya Dole through the Air Task Force and Operation WUTAR TABKI killed several terrorists, destroyed their logistics facilities and recovered arms and ammunition.
