The Department of Military-Civil Cooperation of the Defense Headquarters is to collaborate with the Nigerian Film Corporation NFC, for production of films that will boost the image of the Armed Forces.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive, Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe stated this at a media conference held at the headquarters of NFC in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Dr Maduekwe explained that the aim of the conference is to give an update on the collaboration between the NFC and the Department of Military-Civil Cooperation of the Defense Headquarters.
He opined that the project is not only desirable but timely considering the various display of gallantry by the army which were yet to be produced for viewing within the Country and globally.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive expressed that, after consultation with filmmakers across the Country, the outcome provided another opportunity to fine-tune the realization of the Nigerian Army forces film production project.
Dr Maduekwe appreciated the filmmakers for forwarding their proposals, saying it is an indication of commitment as they undertook the assignment without financial reward.
He said over one hundred and twelve film production proposals were received and processed by the committee.
Dr Maduekwe also said that various films were under production while some were already awaiting commissioning which includes the Nigerian Armed Forces Film on Counter Insurgency in Nigeria, TV series on the Nigerian Armed Forces as well as Feature and Documentary films on the Nigerian Armed Forces.
