The Nigerian Armed Forces says it will continue to employ professionalism and enhanced collaboration in all its operations towards ending banditry and other criminal activities in the Country.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche stated this during the weekly media briefing in Abuja.
He said troops engaged in various Operations had sustained onslaught progressively.
According to him, professionalism in intelligence gathering, management and operations by troops of the armed forces as well as cooperation from locals, led to the successful release of the three hundred and forty four Kankara school boys, the thirty nine Islamiya school girls and elimination of armed bandits in Katsina and other parts of the North West Zone.
The Coordinator stated that the enhanced activities of troops of Operation Delta Safe, Operation Awatse and other subsidiary operations in the South South and South West zones had reduced pipeline vandalism and other criminal activities in the zones.
He pointed out that troops deactivated seven illegal refineries, forty eight metal tanks, recovered ninety two bags of foreign parboiled rice, seventy nine bales of smuggled clothes and thousands of illegally refined Petroleum products as well as arrested some smugglers.
General Enenche added that troops of operation Lafiya Dole in the North East zone eliminated nine Boko Haram terrorists, destroyed their gun trucks and recovered arms and ammunition while troops of operation Whirl Stroke and its subsidiary operations in the North Central zone killed and arrested some criminals and recovered arms and ammunition.
