Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency has commenced training of over 300 health workers to be engaged in the vaccination of residents against the Corona Virus .
Executive Chairman of the Agency, Dr. Mohammed Adis stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Lafia on level of involvement of the Primary Health Care in management and treatment for COVID – 19 in the State.
Dr. Muhammed Adis said the training became imperative to expose the health workers on how to administer the vaccines.
He explained that the health workers to participate in the training were selected from the primary health care centres and general hospitals across the 13 local Government areas of the state.
Dr. Adis pointed out that the agency had been working closely with the World Health Organisation to ensure that the staff were fully equipped with the necessary information on measures put in place for effective administration of the COVID -19 vaccines when they arrive in the state.
