The Senate has lauded the FCT Administration under the leadership of Malam Muhammad Musa Bello for effective handling of the outbreak of Coronavirus within the Territory during the lockdown.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Abubakar Kyari, stated this during the presentation of the revised 2020 budget of the FCTA in Abuja.

The Senate particularly commended the Head, FCT COVID 19 Monitoring and Enforcement Team, headed by Comrade Ikharo Attah for his contributions and efforts at enforcing compliance that helped in containing the spread of COVID-19.

According to Kyari, the level of death predicted by the West did not take place in the territory, because of the efficient, workable policies and strategy provided by the FCT Minister.

Kyari therefore used the medium to thank the FCT Minister for supporting and providing an enabling environment for the Taskforce to do its work.

His words: “Honourable Minister, we as a committee appreciate the effort you and your team carried on the health sector, the palliative and the fumigation; and the security agencies especially the Taskforce led by Attah… I remember, in our last meeting I had to commend him, because he was all over the place. He was very very active going to nooks and crannies trying to educate people and also carrying out enforcement of the Taskforce regulations…”
