COVID-19 : Plateau Govt Decries Surge In No Of Cases

Plateau State has recorded 182 cases of the COVID 19 Pandemic this week.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Ninkom Lar- Ndam, who disclosed this while briefing journalists in Jos said the State has a total number of cases of 4,179 cases with 3,932 discharged and 34 deaths since the beginning of the Pandemic in the Country.

Dr Lar-Ndam blamed the rise in cases to the nonchalant attitude of people to COVID 19 guidelines especially now that the festive period is around the corner.

On Governor Simon Lalong’s condition, the commissioner said he is doing well and has engaged himself in indoor exercises, adding that all tests carried out so far on his family and Aides were negative.

Contributing, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dan Manjang expressed regret over the second wave of the Pandemic, noting that if people do not adhere to COVID 19 guidelines, Government would be forced to look at other options.

Dan Manjang however said that any action taken by the Government would be for the general good of the State.
