COVID-19 : Kano Govt Donates PPEs To Private Hospitals

As part of  measures to tackle the the return of COVID-19 pandemic, in its second wave, kano State Government has provided Two Thousand Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) and One Hundred Thousand Face Masks to private hospitals in the state.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated this during a Stakeholders Sensitisation Meeting with proprietors of private hospitals in the state, held at Government House Kano.

The Governor explained that  some patients that usually asked for face masks when they visit these facilities can easily be provided with, emphasising that frontline health workers are extremely important,hence  their personal protection needed to be adequately taken care of.

“We are providing you with this 2,000 PPEs and 100,000 face masks so that you can take good care of your frontline health workers who always see patients day in day out,” he said.

Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje noted that the relationship between the State Government and the private health facilities in the state was symbiosis not parasitic.

While asking them to help government in promoting compliance with the protocols, as it relates to use of face mask, hand washing, social distancing and use of hand sanitizer, Governor Ganduje hinted that, the Government is  coming up with Mobile Courts to help in enforcing the use of face mask in the state.
