COVID-19 : FCTA Seals Off Private Clinic For Unethical Practices

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has sealed off BMT Tourist Clinic and Diagnostic Centre over alleged unethical practices in relation to COVID 19 testing.

The Chairman, FCTA COVID-19 Facilities Accreditation Committee, Dr Yakubu Mohammed, who made this known when he led the enforcement team on an operation, said FCTA was reliably informed that BMT hospital also issued out fake certificates to intending international travellers.

Dr Mohammed explained that the clinic which is situated in Wuse -Two area of Abuja was not part of the approved hospitals to carry out COVID-19 services, hence the need for the seal off.

On his part, the Head, Media and Enlightenment of the Taskforce on COVID 19, Comrade Ihkaro Attah, said that the clinic violated the standards for handling Coronavirus diagnosis in the country.
