COVID 19 : AEPB CLAMPS DOWN ON NIGHT CLUB IN DUTSE-ALHAJI

The Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB has confiscated a sound system, speakers and some electronic gadgets of a night club operating in Saukale, Dutse Alhaji in Bwari Area Council of the FCT for breach of COVID 19 protocols . Speaking with newsmen during the operation, the Director of Enforcement in AEPB, Doctor Abubakar Hassan explained that the exercise became necessary in view of the unlawful activities of the night club which negates the protocol of COVID 19 guidelines put in place by the FCT Administration. Doctor Hassan said the club had been operating at night thereby constituting nuisance to the public. According to him, the guidelines on COVID 19 is still in force towards preventing the spread of corona virus in the Territory. He stated that the FCT Administration would not hesitate to clamp down on any garden, recreational Centre and night club that violates the guidelines on COVID 19 protocols in the FCT. The AEPB Director of Enforcement stated that the affected night club would be charged to court for prosecution. Doctor Hassan therefore advised operators of night clubs, garden and recreational centres against violating COVID 19 protocol to avoid the full wrath of the law.
