Thirty-eight thousand people from Plateau state are to benefit from the Federal Government’s N75 billion intervention fund following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on businesses in the State .
Director General of the State Micro finance Development Agency, Mr Haggai Gutap stated this at a sensitization workshop for artisans and transport business owners in the State .
He said the Agency had so far received 10,000 applications from schools and hotels who were registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission and domiciled in the State , noting that the programme was segmented into 5 components, starting with artisans and transporters because they contribute to the development of the economy as well as creating jobs
The Director General further explained that the 10,000 so far enrolled are mostly from Schools and hotels because of the number of employees working for them.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the 17 local Government areas of Plateau State.
