Resolving Conflicts in Communities and between ethnic groups has been identified as a major factor in curtailing security challenges bedevilling the Nation.
A Research officer with the Aminu Kano center for Democratic Research, Malam Mustapha Isyaku stated this while presenting a paper during a one day sensitization program organized by the Women Peace council of Nigeria,Kano municipal branch, in Kano.
He said resolving Conflicts either Communual or religious remains the major tool of addressing security Challenges in the country.
Malam Mustapha Isyaku noted that conflicts results to the diversion of public resources meant for infrastructure and other developmental projects to resolve those conflicts,which According to him was a set back to the society.
” When Conflicts Occur ,in most cases Government set up committees to investigate and to present reports,but unfortunately atimes Government dumps those reports without considering the recommendations made. ‘
He appealed to all Stakeholders involved, to embrace the culture of resolving Conflicts aimed at Achieving the set objectives.
In a remark the Coordinator of women peace Council of Nigeria Kano municipal branch, hajiya Hajara Ibrahim said the sensitization campaign was geared towards addressing Conflicts among Nigerians.
Hajara Ibrahim maitained that over 60 women and traditional leaders have been trained on how to manage Conflicts right from their homes,with the aim of Curtailing the Spread of the Conflicts in the society.
