The Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, has condemned the continued attacks on some Communities in the Country despite the deployment of the Military in those Communities.
COCIN President, Reverend Dacholom Dattiri stated this at the 98th General Council meeting of the Church held in Jos.
Reverend Dattiri noted with concern the attacks and called on Government to do the needful by protecting lives and property which is the sole responsibility of Government.
The COCIN President expressed worry over the increasing rate of Kidnappings, banditry, the predicament of IDPs as well as the trauma faced by Leah Sharibu in the hands of her abductors.
He also frowned at the level of corruption in the country which he said is capable of destroying the country and called on relevant anti corruption agencies to live up to their responsibilities.
Reverend Dattiri condemned the looting that took place in parts of the Country following the ENDSARS protest, noting that it is against the Christian Religion.
In his address, Governor Simon Lalong, represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden called on the Church to monitor the activities of their Children and wards and discourage them from engaging in negative vices.
Governor Lalong said about 75 billion naira is needed to replace damaged property and materials as a result of the looting some of which are materials for the establishment of a factory that would have guaranteed employment, revenue generation as well as improved livelihood of the people.
