Christian leaders in the Country have been charged to remain focused in their task of leading their members, especially as the world is facing many challenges.
A retired Reverend with the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA Reverend Barji Maigadi stated this in his message at the installation and send forth of some officials of the Church held at ECWA Jenta in Jos, Plateau State.
In a message, Reverend Maigadi who read from the Book of John :17, 1-26 noted that the world was going through many predicaments which include banditry, terrorism and the current COVID 19 pandemic which he said has affected the economy including the Church.
Speaking on the topic ‘ Staying focused to the end, Reverend Maigadi called on Christians and other leaders to take care of their members and not allow them to wonder like sheep without a Shepherd.
He said Jesus focused on four principles which include giving Glory to God, connecting people to God and equipping them for service, standing in the gap in prayer for the people and sustaining unity in the body of Christ as a witness to the world.
Reverend Maigadi warned against doctrines of ethnic, tribal, regional, zonal and other affiliations which he said could ruin the Church.
In his prayer of consecration during the installation, the ECWA President, Reverend Stephen Panya Baba said leadership in the Church is very important for coordination, motivation, unity and achievement of the aims of the Church.
Reverend Panya Baba said those installed have won the confidence of the people and are required to work faithfully in order to achieve the purpose for which they were chosen.
Those installed are Reverend Sunday Ajise, who replaced Reverend John Aina as Vice President of the Church, while Reverends Justus Obilomo and David Kajang were installed as Trustees.
