Nigerians have been enjoined to uphold honesty and shun acts inimical to societal values.
Imam Abdulganiu Ayyub made the call in a jumaat sermon at the Ministry of Education Central mosque, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Quoting relevant Surahs from the Holy Qur’an, Imam Abdulganiu noted that Allah enjoined the faithful to be truthful as truthfulness leads to righteousness.
The Cleric who stressed that falsehood promotes evil of various forms advised the Muslim Ummah to desist from such vices like cheating, greed, selfishness, bribery and corruption.
The Imam further implored citizens and leaders at all levels to be just and live up to their responsibilities.
Imam Abdulganiu also encouraged the Ummah to emulate the noble Prophet Muhammad in his virtues and teachings to engender an upright society.
The Imam further prayed for Allah’s intervention on the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
