Cleric Admonishes Christians To Celebrate Christmas Moderately

The Vicar of the All Souls Anglican Church, Lugbe Abuja, Venerable Samuel Akale has called on well meaning individuals to assist the needy particularly those in the rural areas.

Speaking during the Christmas Carol Service of the church in Abuja, Venerable Akale said the essence of Christmas is to show love which should be extended to the vulnerable.

While expressing concern over the economic situation in the Country, the Anglican priest appealed to Christians to celebrate Christmas with modesty and avoid unnecessary expenses to meet up with demands early next year.

He stressed the need for Government at all levels to ensure that people in rural areas benefit more from the various poverty alleviation programs and ensure effective security network during the Yuletide.

The Cleriic also urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue to trust in God during difficult times

Venerable Akale expressed optimism that the Country would come out stronger from her challenges.
