The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has charged the newly appointed justices of the apex court to shun personal ambitions and live above board in the discharge of their duties.
Justice Tanko who gave the charge at the swearing-in ceremony of eight new Justices of the Supreme Court in Abuja, described the event as memorable in the history of the country’s justice system.
The CJN noted that, even though the number still falls slightly short, the Supreme Court now has the number of justices that would help reduce the mounting work load.
The justices, who were recently elevated from the Court of Appeal bench, comprises seven males and one female.
