Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has felicitated with Christians in the State and Nigeria on this year’s Christmas which is the birth of Jesus Christ the saviour of mankind.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bala Dan Abu,
The statement appeals to Christians in the State to always remember the reason for the birth of Jesus Christ which is the remission of sins.
” I urge us to always emulate Christ by being tolerant and forgiving so that we can live peacefully with one another” Gov Ishaku stressed.
According to the statement Gov Ishaku said Christmas is a key part and reminder of God’s grand salvation plan for mankind.
” It is the coming of Jesus Christ into the world through a unique but humble birth process which remains the greatest symbol of identity, hope and unity among Christians all over the world.
It reminds them to pray against Covid 19 which is still prevalent in the Country even as they celebrate.
“Recent statistics of prevalence indicate that the Country is into a new wave of the infection and we need prayers and action to contain the spread of the pandemic by abiding to safety protocols put in place by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
The statement also calls for the continuation of strict compliance with safety protocols which the administration has faithfully promoted.
It says it is only through sustained collective action that we can win the war against the pandemic.
The statement says the Governor wishes all Christians happiness as they celebrate Christmas.
